(My) Pain is Beauty
I wrote this poetry book in 2021 to encapsulate my time in grieving after my father passed. It is my story of loss, anger, pain, love, peace, and beauty told through poetry. Each of us weathers a storm at least once in life. Our testimony is birthed from our survival and living to see clear skies.
This book was the origin place of my writing pursuits. I highlight this book as being an example of taking a season of life, writing down the memories, and having tangible art in my hands to pass down to my children. This is what I would like to continue doing for my motherhood journey and for you. Many more books to come!
I created a series called “The Woman Before The Mother” where I will reach back to the woman before becoming a mom, bring her to the forefront, for the purpose of integrating the two. I welcome you to join me!
A large portion of this series, I will be taking you through the pages of my poetry book, written long before I ever held my child in my arms. In my book, there’s my story. For more information about this series, click into my podcast!
